about the region

Located in Veracruz, Mexico, the municipality of Cosautlán de Carvajal sits in a landscape shaped by elevation, volcanic soils, and mountain climate. Coffee grown here benefits from steady temperatures and balanced rainfall, allowing cherries to develop nuanced sweetness and gentle acidity. The Xilontla farm itself rests around 1350 meters above sea level, where the surrounding environment encourages expressive aromatics and clean structure in the cup.

about the process

This Geisha lot reflects a careful, quality driven approach from nursery to harvest. After the farm was established in 2018, producers intentionally selected varieties suited to the environment and focused on cultivation practices that preserve clarity and balance. While maintaining a light roast profile, the processing emphasizes transparency and brightness, allowing the signature Geisha character to shine through with juicy fruit tones and refined structure.

about the producer

Xilontla is an 85 hectare farm with 40 hectares dedicated to coffee, built around the remnants of an abandoned hacienda dating back to the mid 1800s. Once home to an entire community before earthquakes and isolation forced its abandonment, the land has been reimagined with a renewed purpose. The producers began developing the farm in 2018, carefully planning variety selection and cultivation from the ground up. Today, Xilontla stands as a symbol of restoration and innovation, bridging historical roots with a forward looking vision for exceptional coffee.
