about the producer

In the northwestern region of Metapán, El Salvador, coffee has been part of Alejandro Valiente’s family for four generations. When Alejandro took over the family wet mill in 2010, he saw an opportunity not just to continue that legacy, but to reshape it. Through experimentation and a deep curiosity for processing, he began exploring new ways to express the full potential of coffees from his region. After gaining recognition early on and spending time supporting agronomy projects across Nicaragua and Guatemala, Alejandro returned home in 2017 with a renewed vision. From that vision, Socios de Cosecha was born, a community-driven initiative focused on improving quality, traceability, and opportunity for local farmers. Today, the project works with 67 small producers, each contributing carefully cultivated lots from farms averaging just a few hectares.

about the process

This coffee reflects that shared commitment. Through anaerobic washed processing, fermentation is carefully controlled to build complexity while preserving clarity. Upgraded drying beds, a solar-powered dry mill, and an on-site cupping lab allow producers to stay closely connected to quality at every stage. The result is a cup where bright pomegranate and citrus notes are supported by a silky texture, a direct expression of innovation rooted in community.
