extended story

At Patio Bonito Farm in Cauca, Colombia, Paola Trujillo is helping shape the future of specialty coffee while building on nearly fifty years of family tradition. After studying chemical engineering and working as a coffee buyer and cupper, Paola returned to her family's farm in 2022 with a vision to elevate every aspect of production. Today, she leads innovations in post-harvest processing while working alongside her parents to cultivate some of Colombia's most sought-after coffee varieties.

This lot features 100% Sidra, a rare variety celebrated for its exceptional clarity and complexity. At Patio Bonito, every stage of production is approached with precision, from selective harvesting to carefully controlled washed processing. Paola's technical background and commitment to continuous improvement allow the variety to express itself naturally, preserving the balance and elegance that make Sidra so distinctive.

The Trujillo family operates with three guiding values: food security, soil conservation, and coffee cultivation. Their philosophy is simple but profound: "The best legacy we can leave to our children is love, knowledge, and a planet in which to live." That mindset extends beyond coffee, creating a farm where quality, sustainability, and future generations are equally important. Every cup reflects not only exceptional craftsmanship but also a family's enduring commitment to caring for both people and the land.
