Blanca was one of the first producers to join forces with Gold Mountain Coffee Growers, a partnership that has been instrumental in transforming her farm into a beacon of quality and sustainability. When she and Gold Mountain's flagship farm were both part of a Fair Trade cooperative facing mismanagement, Blanca recognized the potential in aligning with an organization that prioritizes ethical sourcing and farmer empowerment. Through years of collaboration, Gold Mountain has provided Blanca with critical financing, market access, and infrastructure improvements, enabling her to triple the size of El Diamante.
These improvements have been more than just financial—Blanca has used the resources to upgrade her wet mill, install solar drying structures, and enhance her family’s quality of life. With Gold Mountain's support, she has funded multiple life-saving operations for her grandchild, demonstrating that this coffee farm is as much about community and family as it is about exceptional coffee.
The care and precision that Blanca invests in her coffee production are evident in every cup. The cherries are meticulously harvested, ensuring only the ripest fruit makes it to the mill. The washed process, combined with the ideal growing conditions of Jinotega’s high altitude, results in a coffee that is both clean and complex, with a flavor profile that stands out in any brewing method. This commitment to quality has earned El Diamante numerous Golden Bean roasting competition medals, recognized for its excellence in filter, espresso, and milk-based espresso categories.
The 2024 harvest of El Diamante produced just 9 bags of 152.12 lbs, reflecting the small-scale, artisanal approach that Blanca takes to her craft.
